A Future Care Needs and Costs Analysis is a document that is prepared using a consistent process for the evaluation of the client and their disability to establish specific extra ordinary needs dictated by the onset of disability. Based on a review of past and present medical and functional status, medical records, consultation with health care providers, client and family, specific recommendations and related costs are detailed. The analysis is objective and clearly outlines the therapeutic, medical, attendant care, equipment and supplies, medications, housing, housekeeping and property maintenance, and vocational service needs required for the individual throughout his/ her lifetime. Recommendations are then detailed in an easy to read table of costs detailing the schedule and costs for the provision of the goods and services.
A Past and Future Homemaking and Housekeeping Needs Analysis evaluates an individual's reduced capacity and efficiency to engage in pre-disability household services. This analysis is performed by an Occupational Therapist who carefully provides, on the basis of a functional analysis of the client's residual abilities, evidence regarding his/her loss of ability to engage in tasks previously performed. The hours and the nature of lost services are then itemized and quantified.
A Loss of Services Analysis is used in cases of wrongful death. This is an evaluation of the loss suffered by each member of the household with regard to homemaking and housekeeping services that had been provided by the deceased.
The Occupational Therapist gives careful consideration to the actual time spent by the deceased as well as to statistical averages related to homemaking tasks. The actual financial loss of housekeeping services is then calculated through examination of replacement costs for these services.
